Dropbox + Adobe Document Cloud

A proposal on how an integration between Dropbox and Adobe would provide value to teams.

Timeline: 3 months

Role: Lead Product Designer

Responsibilities: Ideal experience conceptual design, user research/validation, Presentation

Introduction

Files types in Dropbox were changing. Our hypothesis, if we enable features that allowed users to open and modify content between Dropbox and 3rd party integrations we would bring value to users. This case study represents how Dropbox would be fully integrated with Adobe Document Cloud, allowing collaborative teams to seamlessly open, edit, and share content using the best capabilities from both platforms.

Impact and results

Ultimately through research our team determined product market fit was not compelling enough for further development. While the project was initially driven high opportunity size and customer requests for Adobe and Dropbox integrations, validation testing with the final concepts illustrated below showed a lack of customer need.

Purpose

The illustration of a teams journey tells a story of how this integration provides value to our shared audience form a teams’ point of view.

My Role

In this project my role was to create and pitch a story to our partners at Adobe demonstrating exactly how this integration would fit in to the users needs. I did so by telling a story from a teams perspective creating, editing, and sharing documents that would involve the approval from multiple team members.
