My Values

Stay customer centered. As a product designer, I believe the best products are developed with user needs and real customer problems in mind. In my role as a lead product designer, one of the main goals has always been to strike a balance between customer needs and business needs when making strategic product decisions.

Be vulnerable and authentic. As a creative colleague, I value vulnerability in the workplace because it allows me to be my authentic self, building personal relationships for greater team success. I believe authenticity creates a safe space to respectfully challenge our peers to do our best work. In this atmosphere, I make great ideas flourish, and innovative products come to life. At Dropbox I wasn’t just an individual contributor, I also enjoyed leading initiatives in internal ERGs and DEI groups. I worked with communities within Dropbox to make impact on the culture. I especially championed vulnerability and even created programs and led activities within our Design Org to promote connection in our company’s transition into a remote-only virtual-first work environment.

Be an empathetic leader. As a leader, I value empathy and understanding. The most worthwhile endeavor is building meaningful connection and strengthening relationships. The same empathy we designers have when testing approaches to building useful products is also directed towards my colleagues. I most enjoy being in a leadership role because I love to help guide and mentor up-and-coming talent to reach their desired goals. I genuinely care that the people around me are happy in their careers and feel recognized for their achievements and superpowers!

Challenges 

Overcoming challenges shapes a professional journey, fostering adaptability and fortitude. Navigating the shift into a fully remote role, loneliness and imposter syndrome became unexpected adversaries, testing my resilience. Overcoming isolation, I found new ways to foster relationships and connection even in a virtual-first work environment. The battle against imposter syndrome became a triumph of self-belief, recognizing that self-inflicted chatter in the mind can be overcome by shifting negative self-talk into new perspectives. These challenges, once a trial, morphed into an opportunity for personal and professional growth.

Personal Hobbies

I'm on a perpetual quest for excitement and learning! Whether shredding slopes as an avid snowboarder or riding the waves as a beginner surfer, I'm all about experiencing life to the fullest. Lately, I've unleashed my inner adventurer with solo-camping escapades in national parks like Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Yosemite. When not conquering the outdoors, I'm a baking maestro in my spare time. But let's talk about my ultimate passion—exploring new restaurants and cuisines is my absolute favorite!
